On Sunday, May 1st, the Macon-Warner Robins (GA) Alumni (SE) Chapter lead by Guide Right Director, Vincent Stewart, Sr. and the Kappa League Cluster Advisors held its 4th Annual National Signing Day at the Glorious Hope Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Macon, Georgia. The outpouring of parents, family, friends and supporters of the Guide Right Kappa League annual ceremony was very visible. This year there was a total of 21 graduates representing the three Kappa League Clusters from the cities of Macon, Milledgeville and Warner Robins; 15 were present to receive their accolades. The graduates have received academic and athletic scholarships to institutions throughout the United States; namely Albany State University, Benedict College, Fort Valley State University, Georgia College & State University, Gupton Jones Mortuary School, Mercer University, Middle Georgia State College, Morehouse College, Tuskegee University and Valdosta State University just to name a few.
The keynote was delivered by Vincent Stewart, Jr., a charter member of the Macon-Warner Robins (GA) Kappa League and spring 2011 initiate of the Gamma Zeta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Stewart is an engineer with the Georgia Power Company and spoke on how he “partied and loss his focus during college” but was able to rebound and is now an engineer. He reminded the graduates to never forget the “Kappas” who was there for them during these formative years as “we WILL be here to assist you during your college matriculation and beyond.”
The graduates were given the Oath of Educational Commitment by Demetrius M. Smith, who employed the graduates to remember that joining Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. during college was not a requirement but “being positive, respectable, upright man who gives back to their communities was.” Polemarch Kennethe L. Wilson thanked everyone for their attendance and applauded their support of the young men in their educational and personal endeavors.
